Something everyBody's gotta know

Hi lovelies! It's me Leyla :)

I don't know about you but I'm dealing with an oily face and a dry body these days ...go figure.. :P  Here are a few of the products I thought I'd share with you what I use to keep those ashy elbows and knees at bay in this drab weather! :)

I've been fairly addicted to this Body/face thermal wash fom Avène (£8 from Boots/superdug). I think it's fab for three reasons:
  1. It's a two in one wash, so great for those of you who want to save a bit of cash!
  2. It is perfect for sensitive skin and contains no alcohol or parabens!
  3. It's a great for adding a little extra moisture in the winter months and to keep that flakey skin away!

(also if you're a language buff like me, you'll appreciate the french/spanish lesson on the front of the bottle :P)

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm also loving this Body Butter from The Body Shop which was gift from our bestie, Sarah, (follow her blog here for quality fashion banter)
This is the Vanilla scented Body butter. I believe you can also get it in cocoa butter too.
For 200ml, you really get a lot of use of this pot! And if I hadn't used it so much already, I would have taken a picture of the inside. It is a DUO pot, so on one side, you have a formula for dry skin (great for those dry knees and elbows) and normal skin (great for all over).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 Yes it's cold out, but walking up to uni sure does take it out of me! So, here's a deoderant I thought you'd like to know about as I've tried loads of deo brands in my life from Simple to Dove to Bionsen.

 It's a 48 hour deodrerant by Vichy (50ml, £8 Boots/Superdrug). - Yes it's pricey for a deoderant but unlike other roll ons, the product doesn't dribble out...You really don't need a lot in order to keep "sweaty betty" at bay which is a result for those of you like me who have class all day most days!

I also try to buy as many 'paraben free' products as I can because, well, they're more healthy for your body... so it's a bonus that this deo is paraben/ fragrance and alcohol free which is GREAT for my sensitive skin!

Thanks for your time! and be sure to catch our next blog featuring our ZARA HAUL!

Let's Face it, it's your skin!

Hey! Leyla here :)

As it is that time of year where one day it's mild outside and the next, it's unbearably cold, my skin  has become incredibly sensitive! So finally, I took it on myself to go to Boots and buy some face care remedies to give my skin the break it needs from this poopy English weather!!

I knew I definitely needed a day cream that wasn't too moisturising as I have oily-combination skin, but one that also wouldn't dry out my skin either. I also needed an eye cream to help get rid of my dark circles and a night cream that could take care of my skin while I spend my time in the land of nod (and as I'm a student, who can blame me :P)

To my joy, Boots were having a 3 for 2 sale on their No7 range (Lord knows that put a smile on my red cheeks! ;P) - I thought, you can't go wrong, No7 is fairly expensive...

The first thing I picked up was No7's Vitality Eye Roll-On (£12.00) for the dark circles under my eyes.

As I have olive skin, I feel that they are more visible that somebody with lighter skin but maybe that's just me... Anywho, what I love about this is the little silver balls at the bottom of the tube. They feel really cold at first but at the same time, they're really soothing and help to stimulate the blood flow which  has helped to reduce the appearance of my dark circles.. as well as the caffeine in the formula!

I will upload some photos of my under eye circles on my next blog as a little update.. But so far, I've used it for a solid week and I either use it during the day or at night and I'm seeing results so I'm definitely happy about that!

The next thing I bought was a night cream (there's a reason I haven't gotten to the day cream yet!)...

The night cream I bought for normal/oily skin (£13.50) which is a good balance for my combo skin as I find that my face is not as greasy (or spotty for that matter) when I wake up with this. Also, I found you really need the tiniest bit as it goes a long way which in the long run, will save me a bit of money too. It is slightly scented but this doesn't irritate my skin in any way- it smells of cucumbers almost. It's very fresh smelling which I like.

So overall, very pleased with the No7 skin care although it is somewhat pricey but definitely worth the 3 for 2 deal!

Lastly.. I bought a day cream (which isn't No7...) - You're thinking.. what?! - yes, the deal was 3 for 2 but like a dummy, I only realised when I got home that I'd picked up a L'oréal product instead! (The cashier lady didn't tell me either so as it turned out, I spent a fair bit that day)

This is the day cream I bought:

Firstly, it smells divine... (much nicer than the No7 night cream too!) - slightly stronger, but really fresh - No telling that from the name on the front of the pot! :P

Again, I bought a normal/combination skin formula... Sometimes I find it a little too moisturising but overall, the consistency is light because it's a gel, not a cream so it virtually glides onto the skin and for the money I paid (The original price was £6.99 but it went down to £4.65 which is reasonable!) It's supposed to tone as well and I do think it has helped to balance out the redness on the tops of my cheeks.

I've worn this everyday for the last week now and I must say that I would buy this again for sure!

You've made it to the end!! thanks so much and I can't wait to update you on these products!

CANTERBURY's CALLING!!

This is our very first blog so bear with us as we work our way around the website... this is our ''Get To Know Us' blog :)

We can't wait to get stuck into the blog-world, so let's get started...

We are twin sisters who study French at Kent University

Our names are Asena (left in the photo) and Leyla (right in the photo). We are 22 years old and we have a passion for all things that feel good, smell good and look good ...food included ;) which is ultimately the reason why we decided to start our own blog!

As there are two of us, you can expect there to be double the enthusiasm and double the passion for products we feel you should know about. Afterall, we've pretty much shared everything in our lives so far so why not share our secrets with you?

2013 is the year to spread the word !!
