Let's Face it, it's your skin!

Hey! Leyla here :)

As it is that time of year where one day it's mild outside and the next, it's unbearably cold, my skin  has become incredibly sensitive! So finally, I took it on myself to go to Boots and buy some face care remedies to give my skin the break it needs from this poopy English weather!!

I knew I definitely needed a day cream that wasn't too moisturising as I have oily-combination skin, but one that also wouldn't dry out my skin either. I also needed an eye cream to help get rid of my dark circles and a night cream that could take care of my skin while I spend my time in the land of nod (and as I'm a student, who can blame me :P)

To my joy, Boots were having a 3 for 2 sale on their No7 range (Lord knows that put a smile on my red cheeks! ;P) - I thought, you can't go wrong, No7 is fairly expensive...

The first thing I picked up was No7's Vitality Eye Roll-On (£12.00) for the dark circles under my eyes.

As I have olive skin, I feel that they are more visible that somebody with lighter skin but maybe that's just me... Anywho, what I love about this is the little silver balls at the bottom of the tube. They feel really cold at first but at the same time, they're really soothing and help to stimulate the blood flow which  has helped to reduce the appearance of my dark circles.. as well as the caffeine in the formula!

I will upload some photos of my under eye circles on my next blog as a little update.. But so far, I've used it for a solid week and I either use it during the day or at night and I'm seeing results so I'm definitely happy about that!

The next thing I bought was a night cream (there's a reason I haven't gotten to the day cream yet!)...

The night cream I bought for normal/oily skin (£13.50) which is a good balance for my combo skin as I find that my face is not as greasy (or spotty for that matter) when I wake up with this. Also, I found you really need the tiniest bit as it goes a long way which in the long run, will save me a bit of money too. It is slightly scented but this doesn't irritate my skin in any way- it smells of cucumbers almost. It's very fresh smelling which I like.

So overall, very pleased with the No7 skin care although it is somewhat pricey but definitely worth the 3 for 2 deal!

Lastly.. I bought a day cream (which isn't No7...) - You're thinking.. what?! - yes, the deal was 3 for 2 but like a dummy, I only realised when I got home that I'd picked up a L'oréal product instead! (The cashier lady didn't tell me either so as it turned out, I spent a fair bit that day)

This is the day cream I bought:

Firstly, it smells divine... (much nicer than the No7 night cream too!) - slightly stronger, but really fresh - No telling that from the name on the front of the pot! :P

Again, I bought a normal/combination skin formula... Sometimes I find it a little too moisturising but overall, the consistency is light because it's a gel, not a cream so it virtually glides onto the skin and for the money I paid (The original price was £6.99 but it went down to £4.65 which is reasonable!) It's supposed to tone as well and I do think it has helped to balance out the redness on the tops of my cheeks.

I've worn this everyday for the last week now and I must say that I would buy this again for sure!

You've made it to the end!! thanks so much and I can't wait to update you on these products!

  1. I also have olive skin, and my under eye circles are the only reason I put on makeup. They don't bother me as much as they used to but I will usually apply a little make up to cover them up. Will have to try this roll on!
Great post :) Would love if you checked out my blog, and if you like it maybe we can follow each other.
